Rita's Full Review

Now, here's the thing about these Bose earbuds — the noise cancelling is extraordinary. I wore them on a train journey and genuinely forgot I was on a train. The engine rumble just vanished. That's what Bose calls Active Noise Cancellation, and nobody does it better.

The sound quality is rich and warm. Music has real depth to it — bass you can feel, vocals that are clear as a bell. They're comfortable too, lighter than they look, and the new wireless charging case means no more fiddling with cables.

Bose has finally sorted the phone call quality as well. The old ones were a bit rubbish for calls, but these use clever AI to filter out background noise, so people can actually hear you properly now.

My only gripe is the price — $299 is a lot for earbuds. And the bass is quite heavy out of the box, though you can tone it down in the app. Battery life is six hours, which is fine for most outings but won't last a transatlantic flight.

Perfect for commuters, office workers, or anyone who values peace and quiet. If you're an iPhone person, the AirPods Pro 3 are worth comparing — but for pure noise cancelling, Bose still has the edge.

What Rita liked

  • Noise cancelling is the best you can buy in earbuds — blocks out trains, offices, and chatter brilliantly
  • Sound quality is rich and detailed with real bass depth
  • Phone call quality is massively improved — people can finally hear you in noisy places
  • Wireless charging case is a welcome upgrade — just pop it on a pad, no cables

What could be better

  • Expensive at $299 — you're paying a premium for the Bose name and that noise cancelling
  • Bass is quite heavy by default — you'll want to tweak it in the app if you prefer balanced sound
  • Six hours of battery won't quite get you through a long-haul flight without recharging
