Let me put it this way -- if you need to check your blood pressure regularly, this little gadget makes it almost painless. You wrap it around your upper arm, press the single button, and about thirty seconds later your reading appears on the built-in screen.
What makes the Withings stand out is the app. Every reading gets sent automatically to your phone over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, so you build up a proper log over time. You can share that directly with your doctor, which saves writing numbers on scraps of paper. It's FDA-cleared too, meaning it meets the same accuracy standards as hospital equipment.
The cuff rolls up into a neat little tube when you're done -- much tidier than the bulky monitors you see at the pharmacy. Battery lasts months on a single USB charge.
My only complaint is the cuff fits arms up to about 17 inches, so if you've got larger arms you might need a different size. And the app setup takes a little patience the first time.
